North-East Teacher Conference, Thursday 11 July 2024

The Corpus Christi College Admissions Team are pleased to invite you to our 2024 North-East Teacher Conference at Harton Academy in South Shields. The aim of the conference is to offer those teachers and advisors with little experience of Oxbridge applications an understanding of how the process works, while also supporting more experienced practitioners with recent changes and navigating some of the challenges of the process.

The free conference will run from 9.30am-3.15pm, with CPD sessions throughout the day, alongside opportunities for teachers and advisors to connect with one another. The sessions will be run by the Corpus Admissions Team, offering valuable insights into maximising chances of admission success. Cambridge student ambassadors will also be on hand to detail what it's like to study at Cambridge.

The day will include sessions on:

  • The University of Cambridge explained
  • Engaging with super-curricular activity
  • Creating competitive personal statements and helpful teacher references
  • Supporting students with admissions assessments (with recent changes explained)
  • Performing well at interview

A buffet lunch and refreshments will be provided.

There is no limit to how many teachers from any one school can attend. After you have registered your interest, you will be sent the programme details closer to the time of the conference.

I first came to Corpus because of an access event I attended here when I was in Year 9, my school was invited to Corpus to get a feel for Cambridge and university life. I had my heart finally set on Corpus once I attended an open day in Year 12 and got a detailed look at what medicine here was actually going to be like. The central location and the intimacy of the College community is great for meeting people and getting to grips with a daunting environment. The buildings are beautiful and the people are fantastically friendly.
