Recycling and waste collection
After trialling several recycling and waste collection schemes, the College has increased its recycling provision across both student and staff areas.
- Cooking oil is supplied and collected by Olleco and converted to biodiesel.
- Food waste is collected by the City Council and is turned into ‘soil improver’ at Amey Waterbeach. This can be collected for free by any member of the public for use in home gardens and allotments.
- Garden waste not composted at Leckhampton is collected by Amy Cespa and composted.
- Blue recycling bins have been placed in all undergraduate and postgraduate rooms and all offices. They are emptied once a fortnight.
