Alumni 'Come and Sing' Choral Evensong

We are delighted to announce details of this year's alumni 'Come and Sing' Choral Evensong with the current Chapel Choir, conducted by Director of Music, Nick Danks. All formers members of the Corpus Chapel Choir, and alumni members of College who didn't sing with the Chapel Choir at the time but who have since taken up choral singing, are invited to join us on Sunday 16 June 2024 for a wonderful afternoon and evening of singing. Alumni are also welcome to bring a family member, partner or friend to participate in the choir.

The repertoire for the Choral Evensong is as follows:

Introit: Let all mortal flesh keep silence Edward Bairstow

Responses: Richard Shephard

Psalm: 150 (to the Stanford chant)

Canticles: Edward Bairstow in D

Anthem: Vox Dicentis clam Edward Naylor

The timetable for the day is as follows:

14.00 - 15.15: visiting singers rehearsal around the piano in Chapel

15.15 - 15.45: tea break in Old Combination Room

15.45 - 17.00: full rehearsal with Chapel Choir in choir stalls in Chapel

17.30 - 18.30: Choral Evensong in Chapel followed by a drinks reception in the Fellows Garden (New Combination Room if wet)

Optional:

19.30 High Table Dinner to which alumni with Corpus MA Dining Rights are welcome to exercise their dining rights (with up to one guest as per standard procedures for exercising dining rights)
