Corpus Link Area Summer School (CLASS)

What is CLASS?
  • CLASS is an opportunity for students from all of our Area Links schools to attend a short residential hosted in College.
  • Lasts for 2 days and 2 nights and is the Tuesday and Wednesday before the University of Cambridge Open Days (first week of July).
  • Combination of super-curricular activities and Cambridge admissions workshops.
  • A chance to experience what undergraduate life at Cambridge and Corpus might be like.
Who can attend?
  • Students who are involved in the Belfast HE+ programme
  • Students who live and attend a state-school in Islington, Northern Ireland, or West Berkshire.
  • If oversubscribed we assign places based on widening-participation criteria.
  • There is no reserve list for students from outside our Area Links schools.
Do school staff have to attend?
  • We encourage school staff to attend if there are four or more students from the same school attending.
  • There are specific teacher and staff only sessions.
  • It is a chance to meet different teachers and staff and exchange best practice.
How much does it cost?
  • All travel, accommodation, and food costs are covered for students involved in the Belfast HE+ programme.
  • For all other students accommodation and food costs are covered but travel to and from Cambridge is not.
  • For students who are, or have been eligible for, Free School Meals there is a bursary available to contribute to the costs of travel.
How do I apply for it?
  • There is no direct application form. All nominations happen via a teacher at your school.
  • Schools are notified before the Easter holidays about dates and the number places available.
  • If you have not heard anything from school and no-one at your school has any information please contact James
