Organ and Choral Awards
With a flourishing music scene, Corpus has a lot to offer choral and organ scholars. Our organ scholars have preferential use of the fine Mander organ - one of the most comfortable and flexible of all collegiate instruments - as well as free organ and singing lessons, and accommodation in some of the best undergraduate rooms in College.
Choral Award holders are automatically members of the Choir Committee, and take a leading role in the choir, helping to plan tours, recordings, concerts and other events. They, along with other choir members, are also entitled to free singing lessons and formal hall on Sunday evenings, after evensong. Members of the choir get the change to perform at venues across the UK and internationally. You can look at our chapel music page to learn more.
Corpus appoints choral and organ scholars through the University scheme. Alongside the intercollegiate scheme, the college also appoints members of the choir through auditions in October, once students arrive in Cambridge. Details of these auditions are circulated to first year students in advance of their arrival.
Why not come and visit us on an open day and see the chapel for yourself? Our Director of Music, Robin Walker is always happy to answer questions and show people around.
