Canon Roger Morgan

Roger Morgan was educated at Bolton School and then Merton College Oxford, where he read Maths. After spells working for Oxford University and then Manchester University, he became a Fellow of Corpus in 1967, where he was Director of Studies in Maths, Praelector and Assistant Tutor. He held a University Lectureship in the Engineering Department, where he eventually became Head of the Management Studies Group, the forerunner of the Judge Institute. His research interests were in creating mathematical models of management systems, and he was used extensively as a Consultant by several government departments and large companies.
In 1984 he left Cambridge to become Vicar of St Columba’s Corby, having studied Theology at Ridley Hall. From Corby he went to Leicester, where he was Vicar of Holy Trinity and became a Canon of Leicester Cathedral. In 2016 he became the Director of The Mathetes Trust, which works to promote Christian discipleship both in the UK and in Africa. He is an experienced parish missioner. Roger has published widely in the field of mathematical models (whilst at Cambridge) and practical Christian discipleship (since ordination).
Roger was married to Ruth, who died in 1983, and then to Alison. He has six children, three from each marriage. Roger and Alison now live in Somerset.
