Oliver Rackham Society Annual Lecture and Dinner 2026

The Oliver Rackham Society is very excited to announce the return of its annual lecture and dinner on Saturday 25 April 2026. 

This year, the ORS Annual Lecture will be delivered by Corpus alumnus Oliver Morton (m.1984), a British science writer and editor. 

Oliver is Briefings editor at The Economist and has written for many publications, including The Independent, National Geographic, Nature (where he was the chief news and features editor), The New Yorker, Newsweek International, Prospect, and Wired. He has authored several distinguished science books, including The Planet Remade: How Geonengineering Could Change the World, Eating the Sun: How Plants Power the Planet and Mapping Mars: Science, Imagination and the Birth of a World. He also has an asteroid, 10716 Olivermorton, named in his honour.

17:30 – The Oliver Rackham Society Annual Lecture, delivered by Corpus alumnus Oliver Morton (m.1984)

18:45 – Drinks reception in the OCR

19:30 – Dinner in Hall

The dress code is black tie/evening attire; no gowns to be worn. 

Attendance at this event is by invitation only, although invited Corpuscles may bring a guest.
