Give to Gain
As part of proceedings we are delighted to be hosting a panel discussion on this year's IWD theme Give to Gain.
To be hosted by Marie-Ange Camara (2021, Education), the panel will feature an inspiring group of Corpus women, including:
Seyi Adeyemo (m.2022, Engineering)
Seyi is pursuing an MEng in Manufacturing Engineering at Corpus Christi College, having matriculated in 2022 as a Choral Scholar. Her Master’s project, in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, examines frameworks to enable safe and scalable AI deployment for manufacturing SMEs. Alongside her studies, she champions female voices in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through the Ada Lovelace Society and has given classical vocal recitals across Cambridge, including for the 1352 Foundation Society.
Cat Davison (m.2006, Philosophy)
Cat Davison is a social entrepreneur working and learning with grassroots educators to ignite digitalised community-led education through participatory design methods as the CEO/Founder of EduSpots. She studied Philosophy at Corpus Christi College Cambridge, followed by a PGCE and an MA in Education and International Development at UCL. Following 11 years of teaching Philosophy, she was recognised as a Global Teacher Prize Finalist, recently selected as a UNESCO Youth for Peace Young Leader.
Eliza Lockhart (m.2019, Law)
Eliza Lockhart is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Finance and Security at the Royal United Services Institute. Her work specialises in the intersection of law, finance and global security, with a focus on financial foreign interference in democracies. A qualified lawyer and legal policy expert, Eliza previously practised at Linklaters in Australia, before serving as Associate to the Hon. Justice Kenny AM of the Federal Court of Australia. Eliza holds a Master of Law and an MPhil in Public Policy, both with Distinction from the University of Cambridge.
Jenny Zhang (Former Fellow)
Dr Jenny Zhang is a chemist specialising in semi-artificial photosynthesis, bioenergetics and bioelectrochemistry.
Jenny completed her PhD in bioinorganic medicinal chemistry at the University of Sydney, Australia, with a brief stint at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she developed redox active platinum-based anti-cancer agents. She then became a Marie Curie Incoming International Fellow at the University of Cambridge to explore how biocatalysts can be exploited to generate solar fuels in an emerging field known as ‘semi-artificial photosynthesis’. She has since been awarded a BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, which she used to start her group in 2018. She is now an Assistant Professor in Material Chemistry at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, and holds the Anne Logue College Lectureship.
