Alumni 'Come and Sing' Choral Evensong

Join us at our next Alumni 'Come and Sing' Choral Evensong, hosted by Director of Music, Nick Danks! 

This year's event will be taking place on Sunday 21 June. Always an enjoyable occasion, all former members of the Corpus Chapel Choir, and alumni members of College who didn't sing with the Chapel Choir at the time but who have since taken up choral singing, are invited to join us for an afternoon of singing and fellowship. Alumni are also welcome to bring a family member, partner or friend to sing and join the day's activities. 

Programme

14.30 - 15.30: visiting singers rehearsal

15.30 - 16.00: tea break 

16.10 - 17.10: full rehearsal with Chapel Choir in choir stalls in Chapel

17.30 - 18.30: Choral Evensong in Chapel followed by a drinks reception in the Fellows' Garden (Old Combination Room if wet)

Optional:

19.30 High Table Dinner to which alumni with Corpus MA Dining Rights are welcome to exercise their dining rights (with up to one guest as per standard procedures for exercising dining rights). Please note that dining at High Table requires pre-booking via hightable@corpus.cam.ac.uk

The music for Evensong, designed to be an accessible and 'good sing' will be:

Introit: Locus iste - Bruckner
Responses: Philip White-Jones (former Corpus Organ Scholar: m2000)
Canticles: Basil Harwood in A flat
Anthem: Evening Hymn - Henry Balfour Gardiner
Also including a psalm chant by John Bertalot.
