New Admissions Tutor and Deputy Admissions Tutor get to work
The first of May sees our new Admissions Tutor, James Davies-Warner, and Deputy Admissions Tutor, Naomi Walker-Pearl, take up their new roles leading the admissions efforts of the College.
James has worked as Access & Outreach Coordinator at Corpus since 2021, and brings a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the College and of the Cambridge admissions system to the role.
Similarly, Naomi has spent the past five years managing the administration of the Admissions Office, and working alongside James to innovate and deliver new outreach activities.
“I am excited to lead an admissions team which places widening participation at the heart of what is does, in a college that does the same,” says James.
“I am looking forward to stepping into this newly-created role, taking on more strategic responsibilities within undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, and developing relationships with key stakeholders in schools,” adds Naomi.
"James’s passionate and discerning commitment to widening participation, to the admission of the best regardless of background, and to their flourishing once in Corpus make him a great fit for the role. We look forward to seeing more of the imaginative ways he has contributed to the College’s success in this area,” says Senior Tutor Marina Frasca-Spada.
“Since joining Corpus, Naomi has looked after admissions arrangements so expertly at a time of rapid, complex and not entirely predictable changes in procedures and technologies. Moreover, she has made quite a mark in our outreach activities, bringing to bear her considerable expertise as a teacher, thus contributing to the placing of Corpus at the cutting edge of Cambridge's widening participation efforts.
“I would also like to express my warmest thanks to Dr Jo Willmott for being a delightful, loyal and most helpful colleague as the Acting Admissions Tutor since July 2023. It has been a pleasure and a privilege for me to have this chance to work more closely with her, we have been very lucky to have Jo in this role.”
