“I genuinely loved chatting to alumni in the Campaign. Every conversation was different and I often learnt something new about the College. It was fascinating to hear about how Corpus has changed over the years.” Caller, 2015
We are currently recruiting for the 2017 Corpus Telephone Campaign, which will be held from 19 September to 1 October 2017. During the campaign, a group of approximately twelve current students and 2017 graduates will telephone Corpus alumni to keep them in touch with the College, as well as to fundraise for vital projects that support Corpus students.
We are looking for a wide range of callers, both undergraduates and postgraduates, from a variety of subjects and year groups, so anyone can apply and be considered.
Calling takes place during the evening and at the weekends, with callers working for a total of 37 hours over the course of the Campaign.
In addition to a competitive hourly rate of pay, callers will be given accommodation in College and evening meals in Hall. The team will also be encouraged the whole way with chocolates, games, wine and plenty of tea and biscuits.
Furthermore, callers will have many interesting conversations with Corpus alumni and can gain valuable career advice.
Full training is provided to help callers engage in conversation with people from all walks of life, learn how to make persuasive arguments and develop negotiation skills.
Everyone whom we intend to call will have received a letter in advance letting them know that a Corpus student will be contacting them to ask them for a donation to the Alumni Fund and to update them on Corpus’s news and forthcoming events. Everyone will be given the opportunity to opt-out if they do not wish to receive a phone call.
