The Alumni Fund
The Alumni Fund harnesses the collective generosity of hundreds of Corpuscles and friends each year. Its impact is felt by all Corpus students. Every aspect of College life benefits. Please consider adding your support, so that even more can be done to help our students.
Gifts to the Alumni Fund are directed to where need is greatest. The vital role donations play is explained in detail here. Donors to the Alumni Fund provide essential, life-changing help for students across the following areas:
- Teaching: Corpus provides more than 10,000 hours of supervision teaching every year. Tuition fees meet less than half of the College’s education costs.
- Financial support: The College awards more than £800,000 a year to its students. This includes six Alumni Fund Bursaries for undergraduate students. Bursaries, scholarships and other grants enable opportunity and enrich students’ lives. We want to do even more, with your help.
- Widening participation: Corpus is resolutely committed to attracting students with the greatest academic potential. Our existing access and outreach programmes are amongst the very best in Cambridge. With your help, we can inspire and enable even more exceptional young people to pursue their ambitions and fulfil their true potential.
- Wellbeing: Students’ health and wellbeing is of paramount importance to the College. We continue to develop and invest in our pastoral team and services, alongside the University’s own student support programme.
- Clubs and societies: Extra-curricular activities are an essential part of the Corpus experience. The ability to participate in a wide variety of clubs and societies is of great importance to students’ enjoyment, development and wellbeing.
- Research: Academic enquiry is central to the College’s mission. The research efforts of our Members, led by our Fellows and postgraduate students, are world-leading across many fields. Funding a greater number of postgraduate studentships and Fellowships is a priority for the College.
- Buildings and facilities: Corpus is a unique and special place in which to live and learn. Our historic buildings and spaces require a lot of care and attention. All College facilities must meet the evolving needs of our exceptional students and academics.
How you can help
Every gift given for use where need is greatest provides greater resilience and flexibility, enabling the College to respond to new challenges and opportunities. The greater the number of donors and donations, the greater the impact on students.
You can make either a one-off or a regular donation online. To discuss how you would like to support the College’s work, please feel welcome to contact Ms Marlies van Wijk, Senior Development Manager, via development@corpus.cam.ac.uk or (0)1223 339718.
