The Mander Organ

For a small college, Corpus is fortunate to have an exceptionally large and well-provisioned organ. The organ was installed in 1968 by Noel Mander in a new case by John Dykes Bower, and was considered one of the most important instruments of its generation. The College received an unusually generous bequest to fund the instrument, and as a result the materials and workmanship are of the very highest quality. For instance there is an unusually high proportion of tin, even in the largest pipes, something which is unimaginably expensive for most organs; and the silver embossing on the case pipes is remarkably sumptuous.
