| Why Corpus? |
|
When you are choosing a College bear in mind that, whichever College they end up at, the vast majority of Cambridge undergraduates are happy. That is certainly the case for Corpus students. Whether they were direct, open or pool candidates, the students here think that Corpus is the best College in Cambridge. This is a Cambridge College phenomenon. For those students who choose Corpus, the reasons are varied and, at times, surprisingly random. Some students will apply to Corpus having visited the College for an Open Day or having come here as part of a school visit or admissions event. Once they have seen the 14th century court and 21st century library and student bar, met some of the undergraduates and eaten in the Hall, they feel that Corpus has everything they need to feel ‘at home’. Other applicants like the close proximity of the College to the Faculties and University Library. One current undergraduate says that she applied to Corpus because she liked the look of its windows and doors. It doesn’t actually matter why you like Corpus. What is important is that you are applying to study a subject for which you have an informed enthusiasm and that the Cambridge course suits your academic interests and aptitude. There is no easy route to getting a place at Cambridge. Applicants are selected on academic criteria and like every other Cambridge College, our aim is to offer places to those students who have the greatest potential to thrive in the Cambridge environment and to achieve at the highest level academically Our undergraduates are drawn from a diverse range of educational, cultural and social backgrounds and we welcome applicants from all types of schools both in the UK and abroad. We are committed to offering the widest possible access to Cambridge, based on academic merit and potential for achievement.
