Activities & Sports at Leckhampton

Thanks to its diverse mix of students from many UK and overseas universities, Leckhampton campus is home to a stimulating close-knit community. The lively social and cultural life stems from the enthusiasm of our residents themselves.

Share and learn

Research students, Fellows and others from the Stephen Hales and Leckhampton Societies enjoy regular meetings to discuss aspects of their work or interests, and there is also a special dinner hosted every summer by the Warden for research students and their supervisors.

Relax and revive

The MCR (Middle Combination Room) committee arranges all kinds of group events, from film nights, garden parties and barbecues to wine tastings, so there’s plenty to do when you’re feeling sociable.

Sample special traditions

Leckhampton hosts many special dinners, as does the MCR (to which all graduate students belong), often entertaining graduates from other Colleges in exchange for return invites. Another enjoyable social tradition is our Sunday teas – guests welcome!

Sports at Leckhampton

Whichever sport you enjoy, you can play or support it here.

The campus is right next to the College playing fields, which have a gym, squash and tennis courts (4 x grass / 2 x hard) as well as a cricket net. It also boasts one of the best croquet lawns in Cambridge.

Never underestimate Corpus on the sports field… Despite our relatively small size, we field teams for inter-college competitions and leagues in all major sports. Leckhampton graduates take part at all levels, and also enter teams in friendly matches for sports including football, rowing, cricket, rugby, hockey, squash and tennis.
