Silver Screen Slack - Friday 20th January, 8pm

Cannes, Hollywood, Corpus???

All other events in the film industry calendar pale into insignificance next to this glamorous and exclusive party; a true coup for any venue, and where better than our very own Pelican bar � armed with some new lights and hopefully a functional air con system.

There�ll be all of your favourite TV and Film soundtracks (yes, Fresh Prince of Bel Air will be played at least twice!) Strut your stuff down the red carpet dressed as your favourite character from the big screen and enjoy the start of the new term as only Corpuscles can!

If you�ve got any favourites you just couldn�t stand to be without, send me a suggestion, or even step up to the plate for a DJ � if you�re man enough!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Secret Santa - Wednesday 4pm, Bar

On Wednesday this week the secret santa that has recently so dominated your lives will finally be drawing to a close beneath the Christmas Tree in the Bar (coming soon!). The climactic exchange of gifts will occur at 4pm, giving you all until then to buy your presents and wrap them.

A list of shame will be published to highlight any Scrooges lurking amongst us, so please don’t forget.

So remember: 4pm Wednesday BAR. And the �5 spending cap.

JCR Open Meeting - Friday 4.30pm, Bar

With the end of term (and CHRISTMAS) fast approaching, it’s time for another JCR Open Meeting. The next meeting will be held in the Bar next Friday, the 2nd December, at the slightly unusual time of 4.30pm, on account of Commemoration Dinner in the evening for third-years and prize winners. There’s lots of important (read: money-related!) and exciting stuff to discuss. The provisional agenda is as follows:

Rent increases for 2012-13
Changes to the bed-making service
Laundry facilities
Computing facilities
Catering issues (update)

There will also likely be a motion submitted by some Corpus students re: the recent CDE protest against a speech by David Willetts, the universities minister, and the ongoing occupation of the Lady Mitchell Hall.

It being Christmas and all, I’m even planning to bring mince pies. So get keen and come along. Don’t let your Beloved JCR President end up like this.

Christmas Slack - Friday 9pm, Bar

A message from the Corpus Ents Team:

This Friday (the 25th) sees the culmination of the term – the annual Corpus Christmas slack. Wander down to the bar from 9pm – contented after Christmas formal – to enjoy a night of festive frivolities. Warm mince pies will be on offer from the ents team from 10pm (although you’ll need to get there early to bag one) as well as the usual themed cocktails, not to mention the floor-filling cheesy Christmas classics!
