Scholarships

All prospective graduate students who have been offered a place at the College will automatically be considered for any award for which they are eligible. There is no separate application form – the College receives the financial section from the University application form.

PhD

The College awards Research Scholarships and bursaries open to PhD students in all subjects. They vary in value and will usually be for 3 years. Awards are often made in collaboration with other funding bodies or University departments. The College participates in various University funding schemes, often funding 50% of awards made to Corpus Christi members up to a value of £12000. For entry in 2017/2018 the College has agreed to fund three shared PhD doctoral training awards in partnership with the AHRC, BBSRC and ESRC respectively.

For entry in 2017 the James Dyson Foundation is offering an Alec Dyson PhD studentship in Engineering to be held at Corpus Christi College. This will cover university and college fees, together with a maintenance stipend at the standard minimum research council rate and a substantial research expenses fund. The total value is 25000 pounds p.a. for 3 years. Preference will be given to those fitting with the James Dyson Foundation objectives.  Candidates should have strong communication skills and a willingness to use these skills to pass enthusiasm for advancing U.K. engineering to the next generation. No separate application is necessary.

Residents of EU countries in receipt of fees-only awards from other funding bodies, e.g. Research Councils, are eligible for a scholarship to contribute towards maintenance costs.

For PhD students not resident within the EU, awards are normally made in collaboration with the Cambridge Trusts.

The Bragg, Allen and McCrum Scholarships These three scholarships are part of the Cambridge Australia scholarship programme which offers full PhD scholarships to support outstanding Australian scholars for three years at Cambridge. One of these three is offered each year and is preferentially awarded to a successful candidate who has been accepted by Corpus Christi. The application procedure is as for Cambridge Trusts scholarships via the scholarships section of the University’s graduate  application f0rm. Applicants for the Bragg, Allen, McCrum scholarships should include Corpus Christi College as one of their two choices of College.

 

One year courses

Bursaries are open to students in all subjects. They will often be made in collaboration with other funding bodies and vary in value. For 2016/17 the college is funding three half research masters awards valued at £6ooo, matched by £6000 from the Newton Trust, under the joint Newton/ Colleges masters scheme, and also is part-funding two full masters awards in collaboration with the Cambridge Trusts and the relevant University Departments and Faculties. For entry in 2017/18 the College is expecting to provide a total of £50,000 of masters funding, including three joint Newton Trust/Corpus awards.

Cambridge Australia Masters Scholarships The aim of the Cambridge Australia Masters Scholarship programme is to foster candidates’ intellectual, ethical and spiritual life to enable them to become effective leaders in the community.   Each scholarship is tenable for one year and covers one half of the costs (University fees, College fees and maintenance) associated with a coursework Master’s degree. These half-scholarships are designed to encourage candidates to co-fund their studies e.g. with funding from other scholarships, prior employment income, or sponsorship from business, clubs or family and friends.  Two Cambridge Australia Allen scholarships for 2016/17 were awarded to Corpus students taking masters courses. The application procedure is as for Cambridge Trusts scholarships via the scholarships section of the University’s graduate  application f0rm. Applicants should include Corpus Christi College as one of their two choices of College
