INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL NETWORK CONNECTIONSEvery student staying in College-provided accommodation may apply for a connection to the College’s network. A connection to our network will enable you to access the Internet as well as a range of university resources, directly from your room. Students of the College are prohibited from installing webcams or network hubs/routes (wireless) in their College rooms. Each student is responsible for the ethernet connection in his/her College room. If any message or data is sent or downloaded from/to a PC in his/her absence or presence the student will be held responsible.
Students wishing to apply for a connection should follow the steps as outlined below: 1. Ensure your computer is configured to automatically obtain an IP address For Windows 2000/XP users: • Select Start > Settings > Network Connections For Windows Vista / Windows 7 users: 2. Physically connect your computer to the network socket in the wall using an Ethernet cable 3. Open Internet Explorer (or any other browser) and wait until you are automatically taken to the Corpus Registration Page Enter either your PWF or Raven username and password and follow the instructions that follow. * The College will provide all new students with an ethernet cable. The cable is then the students responsibility for the duration of their course. Any replacements provided by the college for lost or damaged cables will be charged to the students account. |
